JACoB

Journal Aligned Control Bridge. A blank slate for building the Elite companion tool you actually want.

It started as a way to paste text into Elite on a Steam Deck. Scope creep became a scope supernova.

Keep the core small. Put the weird ideas in tabs.

JACoB handles the things a normal browser tab cannot safely or conveniently do on its own. Tabs get a stable SDK and can stay simple, self-contained HTML.

Game stateJournal, Status and companion JSON snapshots.
InputBindings, text entry and procedural control.
HUD / OverlayNative text, shapes and track visualization.
VisionGame capture and deterministic screen-region tools.
StoragePrivate persistent state for installed tabs.
LANUse the same tool from a phone or tablet.
ClipboardHost-native bounded write access while Elite has focus.
ExtensibleTabs can use public APIs and cooperate with each other.

JACoB Settings LAN pairing screen
Actual JACoB Settings UI: LAN URL, pair key QR codes, Network Doctor, and connected-device trust controls.

Pair a phone or tablet over the LAN.

JACoB exposes a local network interface so the browser UI can live wherever it is useful. The Settings page provides the connect URL and pairing key, renders both as QR codes, and lets the physical host manage remembered or admin devices and revoke access.

No cloud account is required for ordinary LAN control.

The core is the boring part on purpose.

The useful part is what gets built on top of it.

Tabs are just HTML.

Make one

Use Tab Manager to paste or upload a self-contained HTML tab, preview it, then save it into JACoB.

Share one

Community tabs can be published, installed, updated and remixed without turning JACoB itself into a giant monolith.

Keep control local

JACoB runs on the commander's machine. Sensitive host capabilities remain behind the core's permission and trust boundaries.
